“Let life thrive in green, and let nature be the destination of our coming days.”
Nature is an inseparable part of our lives. Trees not only provide us with oxygen; along with food, medicine, shade, and shelter, they also play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance. Plants play an important part in reducing air pollution, preventing soil erosion, conserving biodiversity, and combating the adverse effects of climate change. Therefore, planting a sapling means not just making today green—rather, it means building the foundation of a safe and habitable world for future generations.
Since 2015, the Rajshahi University Science Club (RUSC) has been tirelessly working to foster scientific mindset, social responsibility, and environmental awareness among students. Continuing this momentum, with a commitment to environmental conservation and greening, the Rajshahi University Science Club is going to organize the “RUSC Tree Plantation Drive 2026.”
Under this program, saplings of various species will be planted and distributed on selected educational institution premises. Through this initiative, alongside making the environment greener, cleaner, and more vibrant, the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation will be highlighted among students.
Main Objectives of the Initiative:
- To make the environment greener, more scenic, and shady.
- To create awareness among students regarding the necessity of tree plantation and environmental conservation.
- To increase local-level greening and ensure social participation in environmental protection.
- To undertake practical initiatives in tackling climate change and environmental crises.
- To encourage the young generation to play a responsible and active role in nature conservation.
For planting and distribution in this program, saplings of various fruit-bearing, timber, medicinal, and ornamental species have been selected. In the future, these trees will serve as sources of food and medicine while helping to provide shade, enhance natural beauty, conserve biodiversity, and maintain ecological balance.
- Venues: Rajshahi University Campus and BCSIR Laboratory High School, Rajshahi.
- Date: August 9, 2026.
“A sapling is today’s initiative, a green earth is tomorrow’s promise.”
Come, let us turn this tree plantation initiative into a collective effort. May every sapling planted by our hands become a green refuge of the future—and may our awareness today build a beautiful, healthy, and sustainable world for the coming generation.
