RUSC

RUSC — Rajshahi University Science Club
Founded 17 January 2015, Rajshahi

Making science the talk of the campus.

Rajshahi University Science Club is the only student organisation on campus built entirely around science — monthly discussions, school outreach, and a national Fiesta that now reaches thousands of students a year.

Our story

Built to give science a permanent home on campus

Rajshahi University Science Club started its journey on 17th January 2015, with one goal: to spread the popularity of science across the Rajshahi region at a time when science and technology increasingly define how the world moves forward.

What began as a small student initiative is now, by most accounts, the only organisation on RU's campus working with science as its sole focus — running events almost every month of the year rather than around a single annual date.

"Each of our events is educational and makes students interested in science — that's what makes RUSC different."

What we do

Science, in a rhythm students can keep up with

Rather than one flagship moment a year, RUSC keeps science visible on campus month by month — then scales it up nationally once a year.

01 — Monthly

Biggan Adda

An open, informal science chat held every month, where members and guests dig into a contemporary topic in science — no lecture hall formality required.

02 — Outreach

School & college visits

RUSC members travel to schools and colleges to run live science shows, bringing hands-on curiosity to students before they ever reach university.

03 — Annual

National Science Fiesta

Olympiads, project shows, poster presentations and programming contests — the club's largest event, open to schools, colleges and universities nationwide.

Flagship event

The National Science Fiesta

Held with the National Science and Technology Museum, the Fiesta has grown from a campus event into one of the country's larger student science gatherings — Olympiads, project shows, poster and painting competitions, wall magazines, and a programming contest run with RU's CSE department.
